2016-03-29 - to Buenavista Cay, Ragged Islands

It was quite a rough journey today.  Ally Cat decided to stay in Flamingo Cay and were thinking that they would follow us in a few days.  We decided to go as we wanted to make it all of the way to the end of the Ragged Islands and then make it back up the chain before the weather turned again.  There are not a lot of places to hide within these island chains.  Also, we have only a limited amount of water.  Even though we are quite good at conserving...we didn't want to be forced to stay tucked away in the islands here waiting out weather.  We managed to catch a barracuda, which seems to be the norm for us lately.  This one wasn't too big and we soon cut him free. We arrived in Buenavista Cay about 3;00pm.  It was much calmer in the bay.  We understand that there is a man called Edward who lives on this island all alone.  As we were dropping our anchor we did see a man poke his head to have a look at who was anchoring.  Connor and Kerry made a quick run to shore to say hello and to introduce ourselves.  Edward has lived on this island for the past 7 years but his family, he tells us, has been on the island for the past 400 years.  Edward had begun to build his own home here, but with supplies hard to find and with the hurricanes continuing to undue what he does do, he is finding it hard to complete his job.  He also has a few animals.  More on this to follow.
