2016-03-15 - to Rat Cay and Glass Cay

Another lovely day in this great spot.  Christina and I paddled to shore to take a hike to the ocean side.  We never tire of the view from the high cliffs.  What I was also hoping to do is make our way from beach to beach on the ocean side.  It was a lower low tide so suspected it might be possible.   I have tried before only to be stopped by rock outcroppings and crashing waves that separate each beach area.  The other beaches are rarely touched because of it.  The tide was, indeed, low enough to allow us to make our way safely across the rocks to each beach.  We had to move quickly as the tide would soon be rising and we would have been trapped on the beach, unable to make it back.  We had decided to make a short run to Rat Cay and finally Glass Cay with our buddy boats.

At the end of our hike I looked down from the cliff and saw these giant parrot fish in the water.  They must have been over 1 meter long.  I have never seen them so large!  It was amazing to watch them play in the surf!
